CHAIRMAN’S WELCOME 

It gives me great pleasure to introduce to you one of Papua New Guinea’s  progressive and diversified multi-entity, the Hides Gas Development Company Limited, (HGDC Ltd) a landowner company in the multi-billion-dollar PNG LNG Project in Hela Province.

It is a solution company with proven and recognized track record demonstrated during the construction phase of the LNG project and preceding years

Since 2009, HGDC Ltd has been working alongside the PNG LNG Project developer ExxonMobil PNG Limited (formerly Esso Highlands Ltd -a subsidiary of ExxonMobil Corp) and its Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractors providing services in the areas of skilled and unskilled labour hire, Camp Catering, Camp Maintenance, light vehicle hires, Security and rations supply.

HGDC signed a service outline agreement (SOA) with then Esso Highlands Ltd to provide services in these five business areas but realizing the necessity for increased returns on investments, we inevitably diversified our businesses into road construction and camp maintenance.

Our Company’s journey over the past ten years has been one of a mixed bag. On one hand we are a growth company that wants to be a role model landowner company in Papua New Guinea and on the other we managed the expectations of our landowners as well as meet the expectations of our EPC Contractors and the project developer.  These challenges are real and ongoing. These challenges have given us the impetus to strategically position ourselves to meet required expectations of the very people report to.

Our beginning was a humble one with no capital and assets. By putting up our hands to do business in one of the toughest environments in the country, we were prepared to deliver to develop the first LNG project in Papua New Guinea.

We are proud to have been part of the success journey of the PNGLNG- a resource project in the making in PNG’s history.

Through perseverance, commitment, focus and patience of our Board, Management and staff we have dramatically grown this company over a short period of time.

Today, our company is well positioned to grow further and seek business opportunities in existing and new projects either in Hela and Southern Highlands provinces or elsewhere in the country and beyond. We are committed to “look over the hill” and add more value to our shareholders’ investments.

Today, Para Camp is proud to accommodate a 156 Man Camp with fully kitted gymnasium and recreation room, HAG Messing facility, Kina Bank Branch, HGDC, a helipad, Batch Plant, HSS security personal barracks and testing laboratory for civil works.

The PNG LNG Project has a lifespan of 30 years or over and as landowners we must take ownership and protective custody of the project to see tangible benefits flow into our villages. As a company, HGDC is proud of its role in assisting delivering of the first LNG project in Papua New Guinea.

As a responsible landowner company, we have also played a significant part in assisting the communities we do business in.

Our community service obligation is immense and we will continue to provide assistance at community levels as we believe in improving the lives and wellbeing of our people.

We understand that the road ahead will not be a “walk in the park”, there are positive challenges and with our concerted efforts, we will work together to overcome and excel during these opportunities.

Going forward, HGDC is positioned for growth. We will continue to identify other sound investment opportunities that will enable us to achieve our objectives.
