Hides Gas Development Company Limited (HGDC) was established in April 2008 under the Companies’ Act 1997 to become the umbrella landowner company for the upstream section of the PNG LNG Project.

Hides Gas Development Company Limited (HGDC) was established in April 2008 under the Companies’ Act 1997 to become the umbrella landowner company for the upstream section of the PNG LNG Project. The company is recognised by PNG LNG Project operator ExxonMobil PNG Limited as legitimate umbrella landowner company representing 15 regional landowner companies from Hides Petroleum Development Licence (PDL) 1 & 7, Angore PDL 8, Juha PDL 9, Komo Airfield Development, Kobalu Camp and Benaria Pipeline. HGDC has a fully represented Board comprising 18 Directors appointed by the shareholders of their regional landowner companies.

HGDC supplies the local labour force to ExxonMobil PNG Limited and other Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contractors of the PNG LNG Project.

We have also entered into Joint Ventures with highly reputable companies to ensure high quality service delivery within the Project area.

As the Umbrella Landowner Company, HGDC will always work cooperatively with our EPC partners and ExxonMobil PNG Limited to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes for all stakeholders in the PNG LNG Project.

HGDC will also continue to seek new commercial opportunities to expand the business platform beyond the five reserved areas of business activities and we will build a sustainable long term business that will deliver and increase value to our shareholders’ investment in the company

Participating interests are affiliates of ExxonMobil (including ExxonMobil PNG  Ltd as operator, 33.2 percent), Oil Search Ltd (29.0 percent), National Petroleum Company Papua New Guinea (16.6 percent), Santos Ltd (13.5 percent), JX Nippon Oil and Gas Exploration (4.7 percent), Mineral Resources Development Company Ltd (PNG Landowners, 2.8 percent) and Petromin PNG Holdings Ltd (0.2 percent).
